Suman and Rakesh are both Nine. “You know I cannot wait for the holiday to begin. We are going to Pokhara. Dad says we will go for paragliding too and it will be like flying in the air.” Rakesh had his eyes pop up with excitement when he was sharing his plans. Suman was happy to listen too so that he could use that plan to make up his own fantasy bubble. Only, in his bubble, he will have lot more fun than Rakesh. He would go to nicer hotels, eat nicer foods and do cooler things.

Rakesh’s father was a Branch manager of a NGO in kathmandu while his father had a small grocery store. He tried to compare his father’s income with Rakesh’s and his every calculation would show that later made triple than the former. When he went to Rakesh’s home, his mother will treat them with nice drinks and he would get to eat delicious food and enjoy video games. Rakesh went to a Expensive boarding school inside Kathmandu valley and he went to a nearby government school. His home was always a mess. His parents were always fighting over money, no cable in his television and same Rice with cereals as a food every day. He hated the fact that they were poor. Being with Rakesh always reminded Suman how miserable and stressful his life was. His friend’s life was his motivation. He wanted to have a life like that someday. He made himself a promise he would work hard and be like Rakesh’s father and get rid of his stressful life.

Suman has always been such a good listener. That is why Rakesh liked to hang out with him. It was nice to have someone around who would think all his vacations were cool. They lived in a village outside Kathmandu valley where they were the richest family. Back in the school, no one cared about his plans. In fact he was even hesitant to talk about his vacations because all his friends were going to foreign countries. He was the only one who had to make do with Pokhara which he has already visited billions of times. His father always came home late and never had time for his family. Whenever he was home, his parents were always bickering about something or the other. Just the other day his mother was upset that her friend had a lot more expensive Jewelry than hers in a party. All his friends had the latest Iphone while he was still carrying the same one from three years ago. He hated the fact that he didn’t have all those luxury that his friends had. But he didn’t want his life to be like that forever. He was determined to earn lot more money than his father ever did so that money was never a factor in his life.
