Samrat Dahal, Kathmandu | Suman and Rakesh are Nineteen now. They don’t hangout as much nowadays. Although they would love to but their life style is so different they couldn’t manage the time. Suman is studying civil engineering in Tribhuwan University with full scholarship while Rakesh is going to Private law school. Suman is already independent from his family as he gives private tuition in his free time. He is working hard to reach his goal. Things have never been easy for him. Even now he has lot of struggle going on in his life. He barely manages to make money for his living so he do not go out and have fun like all of his classmates do. He does not have a fancy phone, no fancy clothes and he doesn’t get to go for the movies in the weekends. He is top of his class and his teachers admire his talent but he doesn’t seem to care about it because Sarita, the only person whose admiration he longs for, doesn’t give a shit about him.
Even though they do not get to meet frequently, Suman and Rakesh are updated with each other’s life. Rakesh had moved inside Kathmandu after he finished his high school. Suman had gone to visit Rakesh in his apartment just last weekend. They played in the Playstation all night. Rakesh also showed him the videos from his trip to mustang with his girl friend Saniya. He wished if he could go on a trip with Sarita. He bounced in his fantasy bubble all night that day.
Rakesh had felt happy to see Suman after such a long time. Over the years, Rakesh had developed a certain admiration towards Suman as he had handled his life so well even with the harsh condition of his childhood. He wished he was as talented as Suman. He couldn’t tell suman about his break up with Saniya. Just a day ago he had found out that she had been cheating on him the whole time. He had loved Saniya with all his heart so he was heartbroken. He did not want Suman to think that his life was pathetic. He wanted Suman to keep admiring him.
Rakesh has been trying hard to do his best in law school. He was only in his second year and he had failed in four subjects. He had heard from many people that lawyers earn a lot of money, more than they could spend, so admission to the law school was supposed to take him one step closer to his goal. But now he was starting to think that may be law school is not for him. He was not sure he will enjoy being a lawyer and he was still trying to figure out what he wanted.
Even after Ten years, it looked like they had long way to go before they reached their goal.
